Challenge
How can we develop unique ways of quick-release clamping across multiple client needs and desires that save time and feel good?
Solution
Trugrip is TruAudio's tailored application for speaker installation. Through this challenge, and across many approaches, I refined a method that releases a clamp arm and cinches it tight in a single motion. Trugrip achieves this through a twist lever, detents, a guide-ramp, and precisely modeled engagement threads. What looks simple on the surface required careful, staged timing across each function and interaction, worked out through multiple rounds of prototyping, and finished with a cohesive industrial design that ties it all together.
